Roof Pitch

Hold your phone's edge against a roof, a rafter or the gable trim and Roof Pitch reads the slope — as rise over 12, in degrees, and as a percent grade — and locks the reading once the phone holds still. It also shows what that pitch allows under the building code. Pro adds pitch photos with the reading printed on them, measuring from the ground with the camera, jobs with PDF reports, and the calculators that follow from the number: rafter lengths and cuts, jack rafters, birdsmouth, roof area by section and a shingle takeoff.

Everything runs on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours — your readings, photos and jobs stay on your iPhone unless you share them.

Accuracy and safety: Roof Pitch is an estimating aid for professionals and competent DIYers. Readings depend on your device's motion sensors and on how flat the phone sits against the surface, so always verify critical dimensions on site before cutting material or placing an order. Working at height is dangerous — the app is not a substitute for proper fall protection, and no measurement is worth an unsafe position on a roof.
