Roof Pitch ("the App") is operated by Vladimir Lukashov ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the App handles your information. The short version: we don't collect any. The App has no accounts and no login, we do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or location, and there is no advertising and no cross-app tracking of any kind. The photos, readings and jobs you create stay on your iPhone unless you choose to share them.
Unlike apps that send your input somewhere to be processed, Roof Pitch has no backend of ours at all. Pitch measurement and every calculation — rafter lengths, roof area and squares, material takeoff — run entirely on your device. There is no service of ours for your measurements to reach, so they cannot be stored, analysed, or shared by us.
The pitch gauge reads your device's motion sensors (accelerometer, via CoreMotion) to work out how far the phone is tilted from horizontal. A reading is kept only if you save it to a job (see below); it is never transmitted. This use requires no permission from you and gives the App no access to your location.
If you take a pitch photo or measure from the ground, the App uses the camera, with your permission, asked the first time you open those screens. The photo is made on your device with the reading written onto it. When you save it, the App adds it to your photo library using add-only access — it can put photos in but cannot see or read your library — and, if you choose a job, keeps a copy inside the App. Photos are never uploaded by the App.
Only if you turn on Street address for pitch photos, the App asks for your location while you use it, once per photo, to look up the street address and print it on the photo. The address lookup is done by Apple's geocoding service built into iOS, which receives the coordinates to return the address. The App does not store your location history and we never receive it.
Jobs, their readings, notes and photos are stored only on your iPhone, in the App's own storage. A PDF report is made on your device and leaves it only if you share it. Deleting a job or the App deletes them.
Spans, overhangs, areas and other numbers you enter into the calculators are held in memory while the screen is open and are not sent anywhere.
The App offers an optional auto-renewing subscription. Payment is processed by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. To validate purchases and restore them on your other devices the App uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous purchase receipt and a random identifier — never your identity. RevenueCat keeps a record of your purchases (purchase history), which is not linked to your identity and not used for tracking. Apart from Apple's address lookup described above, this is the App's only network connection. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Roof Pitch is an estimating aid. It produces measurements and takeoffs for planning, not certified structural calculations, and it does not replace a qualified engineer, architect, or building inspector where one is required.
The App is not directed to children and collects no personal data.
