Terms of Use (EULA) — Roof Pitch
Last updated: October 8, 2026
These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Vladimir Lukashov ("we", "us") for use of the
Roof Pitch app ("the App"). By using the App you agree to these Terms. This also serves as the End User
License Agreement required by the App Store.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your
Apple devices. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the App except as allowed by law.
2. Subscription
The pitch gauge — including automatic locking, calibration and the minimum-slope guidance — is free to
use. Roof Pitch Pro (pitch photos, measuring from the ground, jobs and PDF reports, and the rafter, cut,
area and material calculators) requires an auto-renewing subscription (weekly and/or yearly options, with
a free trial where offered). Payment is charged to your Apple ID and handled by Apple. The subscription
renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or
cancel it in your App Store account settings. Restores are available via the App. Refunds are handled by
Apple under the App Store terms.
3. Accuracy and site safety — IMPORTANT, please read
Roof Pitch is an estimating aid only. It is not a certified measuring
instrument, not a structural engineering tool, and its output is not an
engineering calculation.
- Pitch readings come from your device's consumer-grade motion sensors and depend on how
flat and steady the phone sits against the surface. A phone resting on shingle granules, a bowed rafter, or
a cupped board will read the surface it is touching, not the roof plane you intend to measure.
- Rafter, area and material results are only as good as the numbers you enter. Spans,
overhangs and footprints must be measured accurately; the App cannot detect an incorrect input.
- Calculations use standard framing geometry and common asphalt-shingle conventions (for example three
bundles per square and a default waste allowance). Your materials and local practice may differ
— adjust the inputs to match the products you are actually installing.
- Readings from the ground are estimates. Sighting a roof edge with the camera depends on
standing square to the gable and holding the phone upright; perspective and a tilted camera change the result.
- Minimum-slope guidance reflects the 2021 International Residential Code, Section R905, and
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.500 definitions. Your jurisdiction may adopt a different edition or amend it, and manufacturer
instructions can be stricter. Framing results such as cut angles, birdsmouth depth and jack-rafter lengths
follow standard layout geometry; notching limits and bearing are for your building official to judge.
- Pitch photos and PDF reports record what the App measured. Whether an insurer, inspector or
building department accepts them is up to them; some require a physical gauge in the photo.
- Always verify critical dimensions on site before cutting material, ordering, or quoting.
Do not rely on the App as the sole basis for a structural decision, a permit submission, or a binding quote.
- Working at height is dangerous. The App does not require you to climb onto a roof and is
not a substitute for fall protection, proper ladder use, or safe working practice. No measurement justifies an
unsafe position. Follow all applicable occupational safety rules and local building codes.
4. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the
accuracy or completeness of any measurement, rafter length, area, quantity, or estimate it produces. To the
maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages, injury, construction defect, material
overage or shortfall, cost, or loss arising from use of the App or reliance on its output. Your total remedy
is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 12 months.
5. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
6. Apple
This EULA is between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the App or support and is a
third-party beneficiary of these Terms.
